September 26, 2010 marks the last day of the moratorium on Israeli settlements and the building of settlements in occupied territories are primed to be resumed.

The freeze on the settlements and the Peace talks at the U.N.

The freeze on further Israeli settlements in the West Bank has been active for 10 months but is coming to an end on September 26, 2010. Around 2000 housing units are planned by promoters. The building of further settlements in the West Bank is a sensitive issue not only between Israel and Palestine but in the whole Middle-Eastern region and abroad.

Right-wing politicians namely from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party are supporting the settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as 500,000 settlers have move into the occupied territories since the 1967 Six Day War.
